Litter Talk

North Americans represent roughly 5% of the world’s population, yet generate 40% of the world’s waste.

Approximately 6% to 10% of litter is accidental. That leaves 90% to 94% of the litter found on streets, parks, woodlands and beaches is caused by deliberate action on the part of the person who discarded it. Over 90% of litter is entirely preventable.
To discard unwanted items improperly is to show a lack of respect for others, a lack of pride in the community and a display of ignorance and laziness.
